We provide solutions to achieve sustainability goals by selling clean and affordable microgeneration systems in existing water supplies where we install small-scale turbines in pipelines. More specifically, in the places where there is an excess of unused energy.

The hydroelectric power offered by AQUAPOWER allows distributed energy generation, in any city in the world and regardless of the geographical conditions of sun or wind.

How do we work on


We work side by side with our clients, to deeply understand their operations.

We conduct an analysis of the needs and potential of the existing infrastructure, to obtain a detailed hydro-energetic diagnosis.

Together, we study the design and the flow rate in the pipelines. 

In specific cases, we perform flow measurement and help with data compilation by installing control and measurement systems, to obtain realistic and relevant information on the system performance.

Our technical team performs conceptual engineering, designing the optimized generation system, considering each project’s conditions.

With a Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software, we design the energy generation system that is most efficient for the project.

After client’s approval, we install everything and set up the system.

With the system in place, we prepare an executive project "as built", along with the list of installed materials, declaration of the controls performed and their results, declaration of compliance and certificate of compliance of the DC/AC inverter issued by an authorized laboratory, to be presented to the power supplier company and allow the power sale.

With the system up and running, we provide monitoring solutions in order to deliver the corresponding impact metrics to our customers on a monthly basis.

In some projects we cooperate with our clients to obtain financing and carbon credit certificates.


Hydropower technology has been around for more than a century so it's a very mature industry. It is very competitive in terms of costs, emissions, and reliability and today it represents 64.9% of the energy matrix in Brazil, 21% in Argentina, 5% in Chile and 16% of the electricity generated worldwide. Hydraulic power is considered a renewable source and does not generate direct emissions of CO²e.

AQUAPOWER uses existing technologies, adapted to a smaller scale, thus creating micro hydroelectric plants (power between 1kW and 75kW).

The electricity will be generated from the pressure excess in the water supply system, energy otherwise wasted.

In hydroelectric plants, civil works usually represent approximately 40% of the plant's construction costs. AQUAPOWER uses a plant concept that does not require this work, reducing the total value of the investment and the payback time.

AQUAPOWER uses the energy present in existing water supply systems. Turbo-generator sets are installed at specific points of the water supply where there is unused energy.

  • At the exit of cooling ducts (many opportunities in thermoelectric plants)

Which are the system components?

Each system is adjusted to the client's needs. The main components are: turbines, generators, controllers, electrical resistance, inverters, and in some cases additional piping.

Whenever the client requires it, or depending on the project’s capacity, our financial team can work on the management of financing in different organizations, in order to ease the financial efforts for a more sustainable future.

We also help to get carbon credit certificates.
